A Name With Meaning
When Valerie and I were choosing a name for our Reiki practice, we realized something: naming a business is a lot like naming a child.
We didn’t want to choose a name just because it sounded good. We wanted a name that had meaning and felt right to both of us.
So we talked, researched, and explored different ideas. Eventually, we found Reiki-10.
“And when we found it, we both knew it was right.”
Why Reiki? Why 10?
Why Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese practice that focuses on healing, balance, and life energy. For us, Reiki is about more than simply feeling better. It is about helping people reconnect with themselves and find greater balance in their lives.
Why 10?
As Valerie researched the meaning of the number 10 in Japanese language and culture, we found an idea that really connected with us — and once we found it, we knew the name was complete.
Complete. Full. Whole.
Having Nothing Essential Lacking.
The Japanese expression 十全 (jūzen) carries the idea of being complete, full, and whole — of having nothing essential lacking. When Valerie discovered this, we both felt it immediately. That was exactly what we were looking for.
Healing, Connection & Wholeness
We wanted Reiki-10 to represent a deeper kind of healing — one that helps us become more whole and brings the different parts of our lives into greater balance.
Not because we are broken or incomplete, but because life can sometimes leave us feeling disconnected or out of balance. Reiki-10 is about helping each other along the journey and creating space to reconnect with ourselves.
Healing
Supporting the body, mind, and spirit through life force energy — gently, naturally, and without force.
Connection
Helping people reconnect with themselves and with the parts of life that bring meaning, peace, and joy.
Wholeness
Moving toward 十全 — complete and whole — not because we are broken, but because balance is a journey.
That’s Why the Name Matters
Reiki-10 is about helping each other along the journey and creating space to reconnect with ourselves. It is about healing, connection, and wholeness — in whatever form that takes for each person who walks through our door.
